About the Instructor
Joel Harris passed with honors in the Oregon Music Teacher Association's level X syllabus piano exam. He led worship at Household of Faith Community Church for over 10 years. In 2002, he founded the NW Worship Academy. Since then, over 150 students of all ages have been trained, many of them now members of a worship team. Joel has written several worship songs, including Yours Alone and Ransom. Since 2006, he has led worship for over 30,000 people during the Rebelution's Do Hard Things Tour. In the summer of 2011, he released a recording project entitled The Rebelution Tour EP. He is currently a Greek major at Multnomah University, and lives in Damascus, OR, with his wife and 2 daughters.

Mission Statement
The goal of NW Worship Academy is to raise up musicians who can serve their families and local churches by playing worship music for everything from family devotions to small groups, to church services. Whether the student is a beginner or simply wants to grow in his or her musical abilities, they will learn to play worship music in a contemporary style, for the glory of God, whether it be solo or with a worship team.
